On 5-6 February 2026, partners met in Nicosia, Cyprus, to launch SHE-LEARNS, a European project focused on improving access to adult education, skills development, and employment pathways for single mothers.
The project responds to a clear challenge: many single mothers face barriers that make learning and career development harder, including time constraints, care responsibilities, limited access to flexible training, and lack of tailored support.
Through SHE-LEARNS, partners will work together to:
- -strengthen the capacity of adult education providers
- -develop national research and needs analysis reports
- -engage single mothers, adult educators, and stakeholders through focus groups and questionnaires
- -create a Digital Toolkit for Inclusive Adult Education
- -support flexible, accessible, and practical learning pathways
The kick-off meeting also included local stakeholder engagement with organisations working on women’s empowerment and single parenthood in Cyprus, helping connect the project with real community needs.
SHE-LEARNS is now moving into its research and needs analysis phase, laying the foundation for practical tools and learning resources that can support both adult educators and single mothers across partner countries.
